Year 1 at Hogwarts is full of adventure! 
We will:
• make our first wands
• choose a pet
• get sorted into our houses
• learn to cast spells and create spells
• learn to fly on a broom and play games
• battle a troll and create dragons
• fight an evil dark wizard

In this course, young witches and wizards will read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (book 1 in the series). Every lesson will have a discussion component, a writing component, and activities.

Public Speaking
Students are required to read two chapters per week and summarize each chapter before the next class. Students will need a book to use as a reading and writing journal (composition notebook, journal, etc.). All activities should be completed in the composition book, as well.
