Our Story

Santa Cruz Learning Center started with a simple idea: helping students thrive. Back when I was tutoring at the public library, my sessions quickly became more popular than I could manage. Then, one day, a parent asked me if I could teach a small afterschool math class for a group of girls. I agreed, and that little class turned out to be the beginning of something much bigger.

Soon, word got out, and we started offering enrichment classes for homeschool families, allowing kids to explore science through engaging and interactive labs that sparked their excitement for learning. Before long, the demand for academic courses kept growing. With the encouragement of dedicated Santa Cruz homeschool families, I took a leap of faith, left my job at UCSC, and dedicated myself to running the learning center full-time.

At Santa Cruz Learning Center, we’ve created an engaging and welcoming space where learning feels natural and enjoyable. We take a down-to-earth approach that helps us connect with students, boosting their confidence and love for learning. Each year, our community grows, and we’re so proud of the connections we’ve built along the way.
